A question was asked about how to get in game money quickly. We all have a lot of tricks if you know one post it here.
One thing I want to point out is that market prices fluctuate. I've seen stuff that sells for 10k one week sell for 200k the next week. Trends usually come and go at the start of new content. When new content is released items like simple and complex take a spike for a few weeks while people are building their new mods. People who don't want to wait will bay premium on collection pieces at the start of content.
Plans in Vendor
The first thing I do when i log in is follow the tip in this tip of the day Vendor (Easy Money). Basically I do a search for VII gear if I see one for under 16,939 then I but it, VIII gear will also show up in the search which I will but if under 23,093. Unless something has changed all gear "Olympian", "Special Forces", "Goon", and "New Justice" all sell for 23,093 at a vendor. Sometimes I only make about $100 off of the deal, but a lot of times I will see people put in the VIII and up for 10-15k and I can make 8-13k off of them easily. If you get 5-10 in your search there's 100k profit right off the bat.
Under 1000 in Vendor
It can take some time to search page by page in the vendors but if you sort by price ascending and search through them you can sometimes find things that shouldn't have been put in there that low. Some collections like the streets are worthless, but if you uncheck usable by me, you may find some collections that are worth 10k to a few million due to careless entry.
Simple / Complex resales
The new 99 stack has added a small wrinkle to how easy this is, but you can search for Simple and Complex stacks and see if there are any really low under the other rates and purchase them and resell them at a higher rate. You will want to be careful as too how much you do this as market tampering is against the TOS, however, buying a few stacks that are under priced and making a profit is okay. It's when you get into doing dozens of transactions in a short period of time that is considered market tampering.
As well as the the outright buying and reselling, salvaging gear will get you parts that you can sell for some good money. Running low tier content can get you a lot of gear to salvage.
Always Check the Market
If you don't care about the style or whatever you get from the collection piece / base item that you received when in the broker go to Add Item and select the Triangle Button (controller) check to see how much the item is going for. When a new time capsule comes out, the first few days you can usually get a million plus for an item that in 3 to 5 days could be worth only a few thousands. I have won big on this buy making 5-6 million and then about 3-4 weeks later buying the same collection pieces for under 100k.
Farming Base Items / Rare Styles
You can farm rare styles like Captain Cold's hoodie, the base items that you get feats for, Supergirl's cape, etc... from lower content. Metro General walk-in in open world can sometimes net you a piece that can fetch for 700k-1m.
That certainly sheds some light on the money-making process and clarifies some of the economical issues of starting a new game.
i especially liked the (simple-complex) material part due to how easy it is to acquire some by salvaging even if one doesn’t have enough cash to buy the underpriced ones off the broker.
thanks for the thread!
